A fully automatic machine that converts timber lengths into split firewood ready for delivery to the customer.

The machine uses a hydraulically powered chainsaw to cross-cut the timber giving the following benefits -

  • quieter than a corresponding circular saw.
  • saw only runs while cutting
  • instantaneous stopping of saw on demand
  • more easily maintained than circular saw.

The chainsaw uses standard 3/8" pitch chain and employs a separate chain lubrication system allowing the use of bio-degradable oils if desired.

The cut ring is positively held to give reliable transfer into the splitting area. The splitting blade is configured to give the optimum splitting performance for the full range of diameters.

The cut length can be quickly set over a wide range (10 cm to 33 cm) and once set is consistently maintained.

The machine is designed to be user friendly with high visibility of all operations and low maintenance requiring no special tools or skills.

Being automatic, the whole process can be controlled by one operator with the minimum of effort, thus allowing a continuous and high output to be maintained throughout the working day.

Fuel Factory uses a hydro-mechanical, automatic control system. This is highly visible to the operator and is ideally suited to the working environment for such a machine. There are no electronic systems with their specialised repair needs.

The machine can produce cut rings, without being split, for subsequent use by Splitta or Kindla to produce bagged logs and kindling. The machine can also be used for splitting only.

The machine can be supplied as an automatic cross-cutting machine only. The machine can then be upgraded to the full automatic function at a later date, if so desired.

This machine is of British design and build. It has proven ability and the solid construction of the machine provides exceptional durability and ensures a long life.
