British
manufacturer Fuelwood exporting to France as part of their European
expansion' Jeremy Slatem , Fuelwood's MD meets latest Transaw 350
customer and Dealer, Olivier L'Ecu (BLC sarl), at the 'Bois Energie
2010' show in France this month.
Customer Mr Bernard says' Transaw 350 meets all of his requirements
and is very pleased with the quality and performance.
Also on show was Fuelwood's
kindling wood machine the New 'Kindlet Pro' which exceeds Europe's
requirements. |
| The Fuelwood
open weekend was set amongst 29 acres of beautiful woodland. The
Claywood site hosted an open weekend for the first time, and the
setting could not have been more appropriate. Based along a peaceful
track through the centre of the pine woodland at the heart of the
Fuelwood business, the machines could be demonstrated in all their
glory. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Starting at the top
of the wood, the machines were set out on both sides of the track,
the Heizohack HM8-500-K Chipper being the first to greet the customers,
this chipper having a Mowi 400 crane fitted to the rear section.
Walking down through
the wood, the machines were displayed to their optimum, amongst
woodpiles and a variety of logs. Next was a display of the various
types of Woodline log splitters vertical and horizontal machines.
Walking on next to the new Japa 450 machine - this being its UK
launch. This new processor cuts a massive 18" diameter log,
plus then an extensive display of all the Japa firewood processors
the 100, 300, 370, 375 and 700 machines. Running up and down keeping
the processors well stocked was the Mowi Skog 75 trailer crane
combination.
Set in the wood demonstrating
its flexibility and accuracy was the Lucas Mill 830, planking
up a beautiful piece of timber. Also in the wood demonstrating
a small forestry skidder was Kenny Dobson of Forest Machine Services.
Kenny is also a dealer for Fuelwood machinery in the North East
of England.

|
|
|
|
|
| Finally,
after a pleasant amble, customers arrived at the Fuelwood designed
machines including Transaw 350, Kindlet Pro, Kindlet, Woodcutta
and Splitta and then a place for a well deserved tea or coffee!
Here was a further display of Heizohack chippers including the HM6-300-VM |

It was clear from first
arriving that the Fuelwood staff had worked extremely hard to
make the open day an enjoyable experience for the customers. The
products had been moved from the workshop to the wood, in order
to allow the customers time and space to look at the machines.
Throughout the two
days, the staff worked tirelessly, talking, demonstrating and
reassuring visitors to the open day. Comments from the customers
reinforced this feeling, as they felt valued by the amount of
time the staff could spend with them.
It was very clear how
dedicated the staff are to Fuelwood and you could feel the pride
that they have about their own products. The demonstrating staff
clearly enjoy using the machines, as much as they enjoy demonstrating
them!
Another testament to
the Fuelwood team is their breadth of associates who are always
willing to help on these occasions. They are an excellent asset
as they use the Fuelwood products for their own businesses and
are keen to share their positive experiences with prospective
customers.
Also in attendance
was Doug Beattie of Farm and Forestry Inverness, a dealer of Fuelwood's
who made the journey to support the Open Day, as did Fuelwood's
new dealer in France Mr Olivier L'Ecu of BLC Sarl.
Maurice Wilson, of
Bag Supplies, set up his stall with a range of nets and bags a
found the whole day enjoyable and complete success.

|
|
| Along side
the demonstrators are the enthusiastic office team. Not only are
they there to give help and information, but obviously spent a lot
of time preparing the refreshments for the days. The delicious homemade
sandwiches were a welcome snack for hungry visitors, and all the
money donated for them will be heading straight for the British
Heart Foundation. |
Final comment
of the day from one of the visitors saying he found the day like a 'slimming
exercise' he'd shed pounds,
waving his cheque book, with a smile.
Brillant APF
The show was a tremendous
success. We had over 30 machines working and processed 70 tons
of timber during the show. The design of the stand was such that
each machine could be demonstrated individually. This benefited
the potential customer showing exactly what the machinery was
capable of.
We re-launched our
own manufacture Firewood Processor,Transaw 350, with faster production
and sales already in all four corners of the UK and in Canada.
New to the show was
our latest machine Kindlet Pro. Kindlet Pro produces 20cm, 25cm
and 30cm long Kindling from the same machine; the longer lengths
a requirement for Europe and North America / Canada.
We also had the benefit
of our suppliers from Heizohack, Mowi, Logosol and Mercia Energy.
We were particularly excited with the Heizohack Lorry Chipper
driven to the show direct from Germany. The Chipper had an impressive
chip production and the chips went to a nearby Woodchip Boiler
Installation.
Also on demonstration
was the Heizohack Tracked Chipper a specialised conversion by
Homegrown Timber (Rail) Division.
We were very encouraged by the positive response of the visitors
and their need for machinery.
I personally would
like to thank the hard work from all of my staff and helpers,
some 28 throughout the show time, and also the many APF helpers
who made the show run like clockwork - well done everyone.
