The circular
saw line developed by Laitilan Metalli Laine Oy forms an efficient
and high quality sawn goods line for the saw mill entrepreneur.
The LAIMET product range is the result of many years of development
in co-operation with professional sawmillers
Continuous development and the ingenious use of
hydraulics have transformed the circular saw into an efficient,
modern sawing system.
All of the units in the circular saw line are well-known, strong
and quality LAIMET products: log conveyor and feed, circular saws
equipped to the customer's choice, sawn goods conveyor, surface
transport and LAIMET surface chippers. As such, LAIMET saw lines
form a complete, ready-to-use sawmill. They are also suitable
for use as a part of a larger saw mill in which the circular saw
may be used for example as a block saw.
All LAIMET models are available in both static and
mobile versions and can saw hardwood and softwood longs into a
wide range of sizes, from thin boards to heavy building timbers.
All LAIMET saws are outstanding in the following areas:
- Speed
of Sawing: very fast movement
of the table and efficient log handling
- High
productivity: loglifters,
log turners and the sawn timber deflector make one man sawing
genuinely possible
- High
Yield: each log is sawn
individually into the optimum dimensions decreasing waste
- Flexibility:
special sizes can be built to meet a customer's individual
needs
- Low
Maintenance Costs: simple,
robust construction with in situ blade sharpening
Safety:
the hydraulic feed roller and well laid out controls give a safe
and efficient working environment
FEATURES
Adjustable hydraulic
legs and small spirit levels
built in to the frame make it easy to level the sawmill on uneven
ground. An experienced operator can have the saw ready for work
within fifteen minutes.
The log lifter
and the log turner assist
in the whole sawing process, not just in the initial loading and
positioning of the log. Here the centre cant is being resawn, while
two slabs await edging. Later the log turner will be used to move
these slabs onto the table for further processing. Each log is sawn
individually into dimensioned timber before the next log is loaded.
The hydraulically driven toothed
feed roller is synchronized
to the table speed. The feed roller maintains it's drive and
speed despite uneven log surfaces. The opening between the blade
and the roller is 600 mm, giving a large diameter log capacity.
The hydraulic log handling device
makes it possible for the operator to saw large and long logs without
assistance, since the device can move the log both sideways and
turn it into the optimum position for sawing. A scale ensures the
correct alignment of the log.
The blade sharpening device
sharpens the saw blade without removing the blade. Quick and versatile
control make the sharpening machine easy to use, and it stays solid
even with blades with hard-metal teeth.
Electronic fence setting
is offered as an alternative to the normal mechanical system. It
makes the work easier and non-standard sizes can easily be programmed
in.
The log turning device
can be moved hydraulically along the frame of the saw - a very useful
feature if logs of varying length are to be sawn.
Both the table feed
and the feed roller
can be controlled by a single lever. It operates on the "dead
man's switch" principle, which is an important safety feature.
Both front and rear blade guides
can be adjusted by the operator while the blade is in motion without
the operator moving from his normal working position.
