We got our hands on the new 17 ton horizontal log splitter from AMR last week, based on it's market leading big brother the HPF28 ton. The HPF17 really is ideal for timber up to 50cm diameter, its fast powerful hydraulics make light work of breaking larger cord wood down for a smaller processor or billeting.
The intergrated log lifter removes the back breaking lifting, the adjustable 4 way splitting knife means the correct size logs are easily achieved.
We ran the machine on our 40hp Compact tractor which also was able to lift and transport it.
